Running to Rome

In the middle of all this craziness, Aaron will be working in Rome all next week, and I keep forgetting that I get to go too! Let's just say I'm over the top excited...already anxiously missing my babies...grateful for loving grandparents....and still running my rear off. By the end of this week I need to fit in a 20 mile run (the marathon is May 2nd, the day before the movers come.) If you are reading this right now, please don't be impressed, or, on the other hand, think I'm nuts! In all honesty, "my flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever!" I have failed and I have wanted to just stop, but for some reason I just keep running....kinda like Forrest Gump. Hey, maybe I'll try to post some crazy picture of me running around the Colosseum sporting a headband and some short shorts!

  1. Jen, in all the craziness of moving and a big life change, I can't think of a better way to keep you sane than running a marathon! What a great way to force yourself out of the madness of cleaning and packing. Have time for just you and the Lord. Draw on His strength physically as well as emotionally. Keep you focused and driven in a time where you probably feel there is chaos all around! And in the midst of it all you get to go to Rome and be far far away from moving! You can't clean, organize, and be a busy housewife. You can just train, relax, and enjoy some one on one time with your husband. What a gift!! I hope you come back refreshed and renewed. Can I come?

  2. Thank you Emily...you are totally right...I truly believe it has kept my heart and mind focused and the Lord always speaks to my heart when I run...He has my full attention:) Oh...I wish you could come to Rome...I will be on my own a lot because Aaron has to work...I still think it would be fun for us all to go to Europe together someday when our kids get big!
