Learning to Sew & The X-"Wigh" Fighter

I finally took the time this weekend to teach Abby Sue some of the basis of sewing. Honestly, I really only know the basics myself, but she was so sweet & eager to learn.  She loved having the freedom to create her own ideas. She made a pillow and a quilt for her doll, Kit, and then surprised me yesterday and made me a little coin purse (I was so touched and will treasure it always.) Now I can't seem to pull her away from the sewing machine. Abby Sue is such a joy. She is always so happy and loving. There is not a day that goes by when she isn't saying something hilarious or profound. She just told me the other day that when she grows up she wants to be 15. Then yesterday we were walking in the cold rain and I sarcastically remarked on what a "pretty" day it was...she enthusiastically replied..."OH..I love the rain too! It makes the prettiest sound when it comes down!" What an optimist!
The kids had a blast today decorating the giant cardboard box that our treadmill came in. They played in it all afternoon. I thought it was so hilarious & cute when I saw the name they wrote on the side...."The X-Wigh Fighter"!!! Ahhh...I'm still just cracking up at the fact that they could spell "fighter" but not "wing"!!! So precious!!!
